If the formula works, go with it. Tonight on Raw, it was announced that current Raw Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks, will be defending her title at SummerSlam 2020 against Asuka in a rematch from Raw last week.

On last week’s episode of Raw, Banks and Asuka competed for the championship. In a backstage segment, however, Bayley was shown attacking Kairi Sane viciously, effectively writing her off of television, due to her departure from the company. As a result, Asuka left the match and went backstage to find and defend her friend’s honor.

However, leaving the ring caused The Empress of Tomorrow to be counted out. Per the special rules of that particular match, Banks was awarded the championship and is now the current Raw Women’s Champion.

Editor’s Opinion:

I still believe that Shayna Baszler is going to be involved in this somehow, but I haven’t quite figured out what that is going to look like yet. Either way, I am excited about this match as Asuka is one of the best in the world right now, and when The Boss is on her game, she can be an elite athlete as well. She has been doing great work as of late, which means that this match has the potential to be a classic!
