5. WWE Intercontinental Championship: Rey Mysterio(c) vs. Chris Jericho (No Holds Barred Match, 06-07-09)
Chris Jericho took issue with Rey Mysterio wearing a mask and lying to his fans by being dishonest and encouraging deception. The WWE Intercontinental Championship was almost an afterthought as Y2J’s mission to unmask his opponent took center stage.
Mysterio grabbed hold of a steel chair and clocked Jericho over the head with it as he looked to reverse the Walls of Jericho submission. With Jericho seemingly out cold in position for the 619, the savvy veteran reversed the move as Rey went through the middle rope, ripping his mask completely off and rolling him up for the win. As a result, Jericho broke his old record by becoming Intercontinental Champion for an unprecedented ninth time.
The match itself was pretty tame by ‘No Holds Barred’ standards. Jericho and Mysterio told their story by keeping the violence to a minimum and using their exceptional ring prowess to captivate the WWE Universe.

4. WWE Championship: CM Punk(c) vs. Chris Jericho (Chicago Street Fight, 04-29-12)
“The Best in the World” moniker stayed with CM Punk after his win over Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 28, but that didn’t sit well with Y2J. In the weeks following the match, Jericho attacked Punk on several occasions, even pouring a bottle of Jack Daniels all over him with hopes of “leading him down the path of alcoholism” like his father. A ‘Chicago Street Fight’ was announced for “WWE Extreme Rules 2012” with Punk’s WWE Championship on the line.
Trying to humiliate his opponent in front of his hometown fans, Jericho looked to deliver a Go To Sleep finisher, but Punk countered the move, sending Y2J into an exposed turnbuckle. One Go To Sleep later and Punk had extended his historic championship reign in front of a sold-out Chicago crowd.
The ‘Chicago Street Fight’ exemplified just how good Punk and Jericho were at the time. They adapted perfectly to their surroundings and had one of the best Street Fights in WWE history. They even wore appropriate ring gear for the event, further validating their high wrestling IQ’s. The little things can go along way.

3. World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus(c) vs. Daniel Bryan (2-Out-Of-3-Falls Match, 04-29-12)
In a matter of 18 seconds, Daniel Bryan went from World Heavyweight Champion to a simple blemish on the WrestleMania 28 card after losing in record time to Sheamus. To prove that the aforementioned result was nothing more than a fluke, Bryan issued a challenge of a ‘2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match’ for “WWE Extreme Rules 2012” so that there would be no denying who the better man was.
Bryan repeatedly kicked Sheamus’ arm while the champion was in the ropes, resulting in a disqualification and a 1-0 lead for the Celtic Warrior. The challenger immediately went for the “Yes!” lock as the match restarted. Sheamus passed out due to the pain, tying the falls at 1-1. Sheamus regained his composure, finishing off Bryan with an Irish Curse backbreaker and Brogue kick to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
This was the match fans wanted at WrestleMania, although that quick finish ultimately benefited Bryan long term. One of only two matches on this list that didn’t feature an “Extreme” stipulation, both Sheamus and Bryan came through in the clutch and solidified their spots in the main event scene with a captivating performance.
