On last week’s SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated John Cena, thus becoming the new number one contender for Jinder Mahal’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. But in the process, he nearly killed John Cena with an overhead suplex, which he apologized for after the match.

Many are wondering if Nakamura received any heat backstage for what was clearly an accident, and according to Cageside Seats, nobody in WWE blamed the former NXT Champion for the suplex spot.

John Cena vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: SmackDown LIVE, Aug. 1, 2017

If you followed Nakamura in New Japan and in NXT, then you know that he’s done the exact same move several times, and he’s never had any issues with it.
