Rey Mysterio Expected Back in WWE Before Summerslam

A lot has been said about Rey Mysterio’s wrestling career outside of WWE. Recently, it’s been revealed that he’ll be facing Kurt Angle again, he’s helping to elevate Lucha Underground, and he’s trying to use his name to help build other brands besides WWE.

Unfortunately, there have also been reports detailing his struggles outside of WWE. It’s been rumored that Mysterio is struggling in AAA over creative differences and financial issues while his commitments to Lucha Underground don’t seem to last longer than season two.

The rumors have been running wild about Rey Mysterio returning to WWE. Not only that but many are expecting the two sides to work out a deal for him to return for Wrestlemania 32 in less than two months in Dallas.

The most popular suggestion from fans for him if he is to get back into the ring would be a dream match between the current United States Champion Kalisto and Mysterio.  

According to Inquisitir.com, it’s unlikely for a deal to be worked out between them before the big event in April, but it’s believed that all of Rey’s commitments to other promotions will be completed sometime in 2016 before Summerslam.

There is still a lot of potential for Rey Mysterio in WWE. His body isn’t going to be able to handle a full-time schedule anymore, but something similar to what Chris Jericho or even RVD has would be a perfect fit for the former WWE Champion.

There was recently a report about WWE potentially bringing back the Cruiserweight division. That is a perfect example of Mysterio bringing prestige to something without ever having to lace up his boots.
