At the start of the month, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart announced that he is suffering from prostate cancer. The WWE Universe immediately gave their undying support to him in his time of need.

Yesterday, it was announced by Smith Hart on his Facebook page that Bret just underwent surgery and posted the following update on his condition:

Bret is now out of surgery to remove his prostate. I spoke to his physician (who also happens to be my own) who said that Bret will likely be in hospital recovery for the next 5-7 days. I hope to hear from his lovely wife Stephanie tonight for a more detailed synopsis of the procedure.

Shortly after that, Bret Hart posted the following statement and photo on Instagram to update his fans on his condition as well:

Surgery’s over and on the long road to recovery. I want to thank Dr. Hyndman and the nursing staff at Rocky View Hospital for an outstanding job. I also want to thank my family, friends, and fans for all your love and support. Things are looking up and I should be home in the next couple of days. In the words of Vince McMahon: “It’s onwards and upwards.

Wrestling Rumors wishes the best in Bret Hart’s recovery.
