Originally, this is the only way some people believed they’d ever see Bill Goldberg on WWE programming again. Obviously, this week was a shock to a lot of people, but it has widely been considered one of the coolest things to happen on WWE television all year.
Right now, we know that Goldberg is headed towards a match with Brock Lesnar down the road. The expectation is for “Survivor Series,” but there have been some rumors about him wrestling at Wrestlemania. That’s still up in the air, but he’ll be in Orlando.
According to a report from Sportskeeda.com, Goldberg will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year the night before Wrestlemania 33. Considering his stock hasn’t been his high in wrestling since he was 173-0, now is the perfect time for this honor.
Few are going to doubt the highs of his wrestling career. For awhile, he was undefeated, defeated Hulk Hogan on Nitro, and was a top face in WWE for a year. However, there are some opposing arguments that people have against him being a Hall of Famer.
For example, he did little in WCW after suffering his first loss. His WWE run wasn’t great, it ended badly, and he takes the blame for being reckless in the ring and ending Bret Hart’s wrestling career. Needless to say, this will be a debate heading into Orlando.
Do you think Goldberg deserves to be a WWE Hall of Famer?
