How Long Will The Spirit Squad Be Staying On SmackDown?

The return of The Spirit Squad was a surprise to be sure, but it was an interesting way to bring things full circle for Dolph Ziggler as he risked everything to challenge and win the IC title from The Miz at “No Mercy.” After that, they’ve remained on SmackDown.

The Spirit Squad have continued to attack him and protect Miz in his quest to regain the IC title from Ziggler. Spirit Squad members Mikey and especially Kenny have looked good in the ring. You have to wonder how much longer they will stay on WWE TV?.

According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, WWE officials aren’t planning to have The Spirit Squad tag team on SmackDown for the long term. Their run is expected to be short and mainly used to get Dolph Ziggler over the hump as the IC Champion.

Although an argument could be made that they’re doing more harm than good for him, their appearances on SmackDown have been fun and WWE’s plans could change. It isn’t out of the question for Kenny and Mikey to stay and compete in the tag team division.
