Battle Royal to Determine No. 1 Contender to Intercontinental Championship Set For Raw

The Miz has been the Intercontinental Champion since the night after Wrestlemania 32 when his heel persona was rejuvenated by stealing the IC title from Zack Ryder and bringing back his wife, Maryse as his valet.

Since then, Miz has been able to get out of title matches through heel tactics, cheating, and by actually getting genuine wins, which is odd for a heel run. Thus far, it’s been a very good run for him and is miles better than the IC title runs he’s had in the past.

At the moment, “Battleground” is roughly two weeks away and Miz doesn’t have a No. 1 contender for his IC Championship, which is probably fine with him.

However, next week’s edition of Monday Night Raw will change that. WWE has announced a battle royal to determine the No. 1 contender for Miz’s IC title and made the following statement for Raw:

“The Miz narrowly managed to save his Intercontinental Championship a couple of weeks ago on Raw, but the A-Lister will have to return to set very soon: A Battle Royal to determine his No. 1 contender will unfold this on Raw in Detroit, and it’s anyone’s guess as to who will step up to challenge the reigning titleholder. What plot twist awaits the most accomplished thespian in the WWE locker room this Monday night?”
