AEW has earned a few. We are barely two weeks into the new year and that means we are getting to look back at the previous year’s good and bad. Granted the former might not be the longest list in the world but there are certainly a few things to pick over on there. That is going to be the case for a wrestling promotion which did have one of the better showings of the year.

Despite not being around all that long by comparison, AEW has come quite a long way. They are easily the second biggest wrestling promotion in the United States and one of the biggest in the world, meaning they have made quite the impact right out of the gate. That includes 2020 as their first full year, and such an occasion means that they should be having a nice retrospective.

AEW has announced the first ever AEW Dynamite Awards, which will be similar to the company’s edition of the Slammys or year end awards for 2020. The awards will be streamed live on Bleacher Report on Wednesday January 27at 7pm EST. Fans will be allowed to vote on the awards at AEWAwards.com with eleven wards being presented. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is always good for some fun but at the same time it can lead to some angles. There are a few different ways to present something like this and hopefully AEW takes advantage of some of their options. If nothing else, have someone fight over some of the awards because they deserve them more than the winner. Either way, the presentation should be fun and that’s what matters most.
