They need the breather. We are in the holiday season and that means things are going to get more interesting in a hurry. Some of the special circumstances that you see taking place are more interesting than others and you get to see some interesting things going on. That is the case with WWE, and now we know a little bit more about what they have planned for some important dates.
WWE is currently in the second year of their contract with SmackDown, which has been a major upgrade for their SmackDown audience. The show is beginning to grow its audience and as a result, WWE is getting more eyes on the product. However, this year’s schedule is a little bit messy and they are going to make some adjustments to make everything work out.
According to Inside The Ropes, WWE will not be broadcasting a live edition of SmackDown on Christmas night, which falls on a Friday this year. Instead, WWE is likely to tape the show either on December 18 or at some point in the following week. The following week’s edition will fall on New Year’s Day. It is currently not known if WWE will be airing a live edition that night or not.
Christmas is a special night for wrestling. Check out some of WWE’s history on the holiday:
Opinion: I would really hope that WWE does not run a live event on Christmas night when the audience will be devastated in the first place. It’s one thing to run a show on that night but don’t have the wrestlers at work on the biggest holiday of the year. How many fans are going to care if the show is live or taped in the first place? New Year’s Day is one thing but don’t have the wrestlers working on Christmas.
