You have to live up to the name. With less than two weeks to go before WWE Tables, Ladders And Chairs, there are still a lot of things to cover for the show. There have been some matches already announced for the card, but there are still several matches that need to be set up. In other cases there are some stipulations to be added, and now one of those have been covered.
As usual, the World Title matches are going to be the focal point of the show. The Universal Title match is already set, with Roman Reigns defending the title against Kevin Owens in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Normally that would be the main event, but this time around there is another match being added to the show, and now it is going to have a stipulation of its own.
WWE has announced that the previously announced WWE Title match between Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles will now see McIntyre defending in another Tables, Ladders And Chairs match. The match was set up when Styles defeated Riddle and Keith Lee in a triple threat match on Monday Night Raw to become the new #1 contender. This will be McIntyre’s first Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.
The champ is ready. Check out how McIntyre got ready for the title match:
Opinion: I’m a bit surprised to see two versions of the same match on the card, but at the same time, it makes sense to go this way. If nothing else it is better than trying to wedge another stipulation onto the card. Instead, just go with something that is already baked into the card and doesn’t need as much of a backstory. The talent is there and now the story backs it up.
