And there’s the confirmation. WWE is like any other major company in that they are always going to want to expand their audience. There are always going to be additional customers available and it makes sense for WWE to try and expand into bigger markets. That is exactly what they are planning with one of the biggest markets in the world and now we know a bit more about the plans.

WWE has long since attempted to make in-roads into India, which makes a lot of sense given the 1.3 billion people who live in the country. That is a lot of people who could be interested in WWE programming but that is only going to work if WWE can make the people care in the first place. It can help to cater to the audience directly, and that seems to be their next step.

The WWE India Instagram account has announced something called the Superstar Spectacle, which will be coming soon. There is no date or any additional information about the special, including where it will air. This comes after previous reports that WWE is planning to launch NXT India, with a special being taped at the Thunderdome and airing on January 26, which is Republic Day in India.

Opinion: As usual, you can never tell if something like this is going to work but it makes perfect sense for WWE to try their hand at getting into a huge market like India. Why would you not want to get in on an audience that big? I’m not sure how successful it is going to be, but if it gives WWE a fresh market, or even a nice piece of one, it is likely to work out well enough.
