We’re not done yet. The WWE Draft has come and gone after five rather long hours of television and a lot of picks. The rosters for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live have been set and that is what we are going to be going with for the future. Now if you know WWE, you know it is never that simple and something else is going to come up and change things in a hurry. That thing has already happened and some things have changed less than twenty four hours after the Draft ended.
On the special preview edition of Backstage, WWE COO Triple H has announced a trade between SmackDown and Monday Night Raw with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross being sent to SmackDown for future draft picks. It is not clear when the draft picks will be applied as there is no date for another draft. Bliss and Cross were sent over as a team, despite being drafted as individuals on SmackDown. It is also not clear why they were split up in the Draft as other teams with shorter histories were drafted together.
Well it was on television. Check out the announcement of the trade:
Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a blockbuster that is but it seems that WWE is trying to correct a few of the mistakes that were made during the Draft. There were a few glaring issues with things like the SmackDown women’s division not being the strongest. Having so many things that need to be fixed is a problem but it is a good sign that WWE seems to understand these issues. I’m curious to see how they are going to do something with the future draft picks, but odds are it is something that will never be referenced, which is ok too.
