I can’t say I blame him. With so many wrestlers on so many rosters in WWE, there are going to be some who are not as happy as some others. There are a lot of wrestlers who want more out of their careers and while WWE is going to offer a lot more money and prominence than any other promotion, that does not mean everyone is getting exactly what they want. That is certainly the case with someone on the active WWE roster and they want out.

In a new post on his Twitter account, Mike Kanellis has announced that he has requested his release from WWE. Kanellis re-signed with WWE in June but says he wants to work more than he currently does, which he says is only one time a week at the moment. While he signed with WWE for what was best for his family, Kanellis wants to wrestle longer matches around the world. He speaks highly of the rest of the locker room and the company as well. There is no word on what this would mean for his wife Maria. Mike has been with WWE since 2016 when he and Maria debuted at Money in the Bank.

This might be the high point for the family. Check out a rather surprising moment from the pregnant Maria:

Opinion: You almost had to see something like this coming as Mike has seemingly been unhappy in WWE for a long time now. He is barely used and has done very little in the company, so it would make sense for him to go back to the independent circuit where he can be around on a bigger stage. Maria was always the star of the team and while she has not done much either, she has been a bigger success than her husband. I’m not sure if WWE will actually grant the release as they seem terrified to do so with anyone at the moment, but you can’t blame Mike for trying.

Do you think Mike will leave WWE? Where do you see him going? Let us know in the comments below.
