Not everything can be a winner. Back in 2001, Vince McMahon started a football league called the XFL. To put it mildly, the league wasn’t a success. Jokes are still made about it to this day and now, ESPN’s 30 for 30 series is releasing a documentary called “This Was the XFL”. The documentary is being released on February 2, 2017 and the trailer has been released.

This isn’t the only wrestling related documentary in the series. Earlier this year, Ric Flair recorded content for another documentary which is scheduled to be released at some point in 2017. ESPN also released a shorter documentary on NXT in 2015 which was fairly well received.

I’m looking forward to this one. 30 for 30 has been one of the best series of documentaries I’ve ever seen and normally treats almost any topic very well. The XFL was nothing short of a disaster and it should be interesting to see what it’s blamed on and how McMahon himself looks back on such a huge failure.
