Video: WWE’s Top Ten Spears

Before the Jackhammer, there was the spear. It’s not exactly a great move. Really, it’s a running shoulder to the ribs but when it’s done right, it looks absolutely devastating. Goldberg made it famous but there are a lot of wrestlers who have don it since there and that means it’s time for a flash back.

WWE has released a brand new top ten list looking at the greatest spears of all time. There’s a wide variety on the list, though oddly enough there’s only one Goldberg entry and it’s from his time in WWE. There are a few I had forgotten about in here though and a few that deserve a second look. Here’s the video:

Opinion: Was there another option for #1? My favorite part of that is Edge’s reaction to someone asking if that’s how it went in rehearsal. Edge: “YOU THINK WE DID THAT MORE THAN ONCE???” That spot made Edge look like a player and there’s a reason it’s still brought up today. It’s one of the best looking spots ever, especially with Jeff Hardy swinging right into it like he did. Great stuff indeed.
