The rise of Cena continues. Every now and then, a wrestler will break through into the world of mainstream entertainment and get out of the professional wrestling bubble. Not too many of them are able to do this but you can certainly tell when things click. Some of the bigger names in wrestling history have pulled it off and now one of the top WWE names of all time is expanding his Hollywood footprint.

Some people might not like him as much as others but John Cena is one of the biggest stars that WWE has ever had. While he has since left the wrestling world for the most part, you will still see him pop up every now and then. Most of his time is spent in the mainstream entertainment world though and now he is going to be on television a lot more than he has been before.

TBS has announced, via Deadline.com, that Cena will be co-hosting and executive produce a revival of the obstacle course series Wipeout. Cena released a video of himself announcing the series and the show’s trailer on Thursday. There is no word on when the show will debut, but it will be airing on TBS. The original version of the show ran from 2008 until 2014.

Meet your new boss. Check out the trailer for the reboot:

Opinion: Good for Cena. It is kind of a big deal to have a weekly television series on a pretty big cable network and I’m curious to see how well it is going to do. Cena is continuing to make a name for himself and being the host of a show like this is a pretty impressive accomplishment. He is becoming more of a well known name and if he lasts on this show for a few years, that status is only going to continue to rise.

What do you think of the series? How far will Cena go in Hollywood? Let us know in the comments below.
