There’s a reason he’s a legend. There are wrestling stars and then there are major stars, with some of the biggest names in history turning into pop culture icons who have transcended the business to a certain extent. These legends are known outside of the ring and there are a lot of people who are capable of making a nice living based on their pop culture appearances. One legend seems to show up almost everywhere and he did it again this weekend.

On Saturday, Ric Flair appeared at the Atlanta United Major League Soccer playoff game. Before the game started, Flair was presented as a special guest and pounded the golden spike, a tradition for the team. Atlanta would go on to win the game 1-0. Flair is often around Atlanta events, including introducing Khalid for his concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He is also scheduled for this week’s Monday Night Raw to help build up the ten man tag between Team Flair and Team Hogan at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia later this month.

Flair is just a big deal. Check out his introduction and spike pounding:

Opinion: Whether you like him or not, there is no denying that Flair is a pop culture legend and someone who has managed to have a rather long career after his time in the ring is over. This kind of thing is always cool to see as Flair gets to go out there and be a celebrity, despite the peak of his career being at least thirty years ago. How many other wrestlers have that kind of longevity and can still pull something like this off? It’s nice to see and I hope he gets to keep doing it for a long time.
