It’s not done yet. This week’s Monday Night Raw ended on a rather emotional note as Edge made his return to the show as an active competitor for the first time in nearly nine years. After making a return to the ring at the Royal Rumble, it was time to see what he could do on the microphone. The fans certainly seemed interested, but the show did not end in a happy way.
Back in 2011, Edge was forced to retire (while still the World Heavyweight Champion) due to a neck injury. It did not seem likely that he would ever wrestle again and that is one of the saddest things that you can see happen to a wrestler. After several years though, he somehow managed to get back in the ring, but someone did not seem happy with the announcement and did something about it.
This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw ended with Edge making his big return speech and announcing that he was going to be wrestling again for the time being. Randy Orton came out and attacked Edge with an RKO, plus a one man Conchairto. WWE has released a new video, showing everything that happened after the show went off the air, including Edge being carried out on a stretcher.
It was a hard thing to watch. Check out the post show situation:
Opinion: This was a great setup as we could have a heck of a match at WrestleMania. Edge vs. Orton is a feud that already had some legs due to its history and now we have the big angle to make it better. I could go with seeing them fight each other on the big stage, especially if it’s Edge’s last major match. Let him retire on the big stage like he deserves, and on his own terms.
Did you like the angle? How do you see the match going? Let us know in the comments below.
