You have to start somewhere. With the Royal Rumble all finished up, it is time to start on the Road to WrestleMania 36. It’s the biggest show of the year and that means it is time to get somewhere with the major stories. There are less than ten weeks to go before WrestleMania and that means things can start taking shape. Now, we know where one of the big matches is going.

On Sunday at the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre won the main event, earning himself a World Title shot at WrestleMania 36. However, it was not clear which title he would challenge as the Royal Rumble winner was going to be able to challenge the World Champion of his choice. That makes quite the decision but McIntyre did not waste time with his selection.

This week on Monday Night Raw, McIntyre opened the show and announced that he would be challenging WWE Champion Brock Lesnar for the title at WrestleMania 36. After McIntyre made the announcement and then defeated the OC in a handicap match, Lesnar came to the ring and took McIntyre out with an F5. This is the first match officially announced for the show and it is not clear when the other World Title match will be set.

I think he’s ready. Check out McIntyre after his huge win, plus the announcement:

Opinion: I like the fact that they did this as fast as possible. There is an option for taking your time to get to the point with something like this, but why waste time if you know where you are going? McIntyre got the biggest win of his life on Sunday and maybe now we can see him get the huge win to change his career forever. I’m not sure if WWE is going to go that way, but it is a good way to start.
