It’s one of those things that has to happen. Love him, hate him or somewhere in between, almost everyone has an opinion on John Cena. He is one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling and has been the face of WWE for a long time now. At the same time though, he is now becoming a movie star and is all but done as an active wrestler. While he still pops up every now and then, those days might be coming to a close.

It’s going to be a big deal. Check out Cena on Goldberg, Undertaker and retirement:

Cena was recently interviewed by TMZ Sports and was asked about retirement. While he did not exactly explain what his plans were on the subject, he did say that it is something he thinks about on a daily basis. Cena did not announce his retirement or even give a general date on when he would be retiring, but rather that it is something he thinks about but that is it something he will stop doing when he’s ready. Here are his comments, with transcription courtesy of 411mania.com:

“I think an individual’s career is up to the individual. I think that’s pretty much the way I can describe that. You know, I’ve been having the same conversation with myself. I’m only 42 but it’s something we’ve gotta address each day and that’s individually specific. When those people are ready to stop, they’ll stop.”

Opinion: I know that Cena is all but retired these days, but the idea of Cena just being done as a wrestler is almost hard to fathom. He’s been such a standard for WWE for so long now that the idea of his era ending feels so strange. I would hope that he has a major retirement match as he has more than earned one, though I could also see him just slipping away and never wrestling again.

Do you think Cena will have a retirement match? Who should he face in his last match? Let us know in the comments below.
