We still don’t know. The Coronavirus situation has changed the way the wrestling world works and there is no telling when that is going to change. With so many changes, WWE has been hit rather hard as they try to find a way to get fans back in attendance at their shows again. That is easier said than done, but the situation has already changed both WrestleMania 36 and Summerslam. Now it seems to be taking out another major show.
With Summerslam right around the corner, we are starting to wrap up the year. That means there is not much time before we need to get ready for the first important shows of 2021. That would include the start of the Road to WrestleMania 37, which means the Royal Rumble is coming up. However, much like this year’s major shows, it might not look anything like you have ever seen before.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE was scheduled to announce the location and date of the 2021 Royal Rumble this week but postponed the announcement over uncertainty. At the moment, it is not clear when or where the show will take place as WWE continues to wait to know when and where it can have fans in attendance. WWE has also not announced the location for Summerslam.
WWE had planned on announcing the 2021 Royal Rumble date and location in early August. I’ve been told that announcement is on hold as the details regarding the event are likely changing.

The Royal Rumble has a deep history. Check out its highlights:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by this as it seems like we are going to be waiting until the Coronavirus has a vaccine before we get to see fans again. That changes everything and while I know WWE does not want to hold the show in the Performance Center. They might not have a choice though, which has to be a strange feeling. The show can take place, but it is going to look pretty strange.
