That’s a bit of a surprise. Whether you like them or not, there is little way to argue that the McMahon Family is the most important in professional wrestling. Vince himself owns the biggest company in the world and his children are both prominent names in that company. At the same time, his son-in-law is the heir apparent to the company and will likely be taking it over when Vince is finally gone. However, one McMahon has not appeared on television in a few weeks and that might be the case going forward.

During a recent question and answer session on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about the television status of Shane McMahon. According to Meltzer, Shane will not be appearing on television anytime soon as there is nothing for him to do today. This comes three weeks after Shane was defeated by Kevin Owens in a ladder match, with the loser being banned from WWE television. There is no word on when Shane will be back on WWE TV but it will not be happening anytime soon.

It was quite a fight to get rid of Shane. Check out how Owens got rid of him:

Opinion: Really, this might be best for everyone involved at the moment. Shane was such a dominant presences on WWE TV over the last year that he needs some time away. He can be brought back later if necessary, but that doesn’t mean he absolutely should. Shane is the kind of performer who is going to be the focal point of almost any show he is on and that is not the kind of thing that SmackDown needs at the moment. Keeping Shane off television at the moment helps a lot right now, though you can imagine him being back when the audience goes down.
