You can feel it inching in the other direction. There are few names in wrestling history who have left the kind of lasting impact that CM Punk did. He completely left the wrestling world nearly six years ago and has done a bunch of different things since then, including a rather unsuccessful stint in the UFC. Since then a lot of people have almost begged Punk to get back in the wrestling ring but Punk has never shown much interest. He has always referred to himself as retired, but as times change, situations can change right along with them, and that seems to be the case now.

After years of turning down the idea, Punk has clarified his stance a little bit on a return to wrestling. Punk appeared on the latest edition of Barstool Sports’ My Mom’s Basement podcast where he said that he would consider returning to the ring, which has been his mentality since leaving in the first place.

Punk says that he never hated wrestling why both fans and wrestling companies want to see him back, as he is one of the few who has never come back. He mentioned that he had received offers from AEW and other companies, including House of Glory in New York, though he says he has not been approached properly. At the moment, there is no indication that Punk will be back in the ring anytime soon, though it is always a possibility.

You can listen to the whole interview right here.

Punk is someone who is going to be remembered for a long time now. Check out one of the reasons why:

Opinion: Punk is the kind of guy who is going to be remembered no matter what he does because he left in such a hurry. Not everyone is going to get to do that and then do whatever he wants. That makes him the white whale (as he said in the interview) and that is going to be the case until he shows up again, assuming he actually does. Punk may not need to get back in the ring, but there is a chance that someone could write him enough of a check that he couldn’t realistically turn it down. Then again maybe he could, and that is what makes it interesting.
