New Match Added To Backlash 2018

Add another to the pile. Backlash is coming up this Sunday and that means it’s time to start cranking out the matches for the show. With so little time before the pay per view, a lot has to be added to the card in very short order. Since the build to the Greatest Royal Rumble took up the last several weeks, there’s only so much that can be done for the less important Backlash show. Coming into this week there were still two TV shows to go and at least one match was added to the card on Monday.

Reigns, Strowman & Lashley vs. Mahal, Owens & Zayn: Raw, April 30, 2018

As announced tonight on Monday Night Raw, Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman will team up to face Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens on Sunday. The match originally took place two weeks ago on Monday Night Raw and then tonight there was a six man tag between these teams plus Roman Reigns and Jinder Mahal respectively. Lashley made his return to WWE after several years in Impact Wrestling and mixed martial arts earlier this month on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 34.

Opinion: Earlier this month, Strowman needed a partner to challenge for the Raw Tag Team Titles. The big idea that WWE was able to come up with was putting a kid with him to win the titles, which Strowman has shown no interest in since. After vacating the titles, Strowman has been put in a makeshift team with Lashley. Can anyone give me a logical reason why Lashley wasn’t the partner instead and we had gone somewhere else from there? Say with Owens and Zayn winning the Raw Tag Team Titles? Not at all? Good to know.
