That’s a long time. If you have watched WWE for any extended period of time, you have seen a lot of names come and go. There are so many wrestlers who have made short term appearances, but at the same time there are people who have been around for a very long time. That can make for some interesting history when you break things down, and an interesting streak was broken this week.
While the Ohio Valley Wrestling class of 2002 is one of the best collections of talent that any company has ever seen, there are some names from the group that are not as well remembered as others. Some of the names are still around WWE today though, with Shelton Benjamin still regularly making appearances for the company. He did that this week, and had quite the accomplishment.
According to the WWE Stats and Info Twitter account, Benjamin’s victory over R-Truth on this week’s Monday Night Raw was his first singles win on the show since the December 4, 2006 episode, when he defeated Super Crazy. Benjamin’s win came in a backstage segment when he jumped R-Truth from behind and pinned him to become the new 24/7 Champion. Benjamin would go on to join the Hurt Business later in the night.

It has been a long time. Check out Benjamin in 2006 and today:
Opinion: This is one of those things that can be fascinating in a lot of ways. Wrestling is not a place where you get various kinds of statistics like this and it can be rather interesting to see what is going on in the company. Benjamin has been around for a long time and it is no surprise that he can get some kind of statistic like this. I can always go with something like this and these things can be rather interesting.
