It worked before. One of the biggest stories of this week’s SmackDown Live saw Asuka and Becky Lynch get into a fight thanks to the influence of Charlotte. The two of them were already on edge as we came up on this Sunday’s Royal Rumble title match, but it was clear that they had some frustrations to get out before then. As it turns out, they got to do some of that after the show.
According to 411mania.com, the post show dark match after this week’s SmackDown Live saw Asuka successfully defend the SmackDown Women’s Title in a triple threat match against Becky Lynch and Charlotte. Asuka won the match by making Charlotte tap out to the Asuka Lock. While Asuka and Lynch will meet for the title on Sunday, Charlotte is scheduled to be in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
The tensions were high last night. Check out how things boiled over:
Opinion: This works as well as anything else for a dark match and it still feels like a big deal. The women’s division has been a highlight for the show and it’s a good sign that these three are getting such a big stage to show off a bit. There’s a real chance that they’re going to headline WrestleMania in some fashion so letting them get as much ring time as they can is a good idea.
Which of these three has the brightest future? Who will leave WrestleMania with the title? Let us know in the comments below.
