So there’s your explanation. This past Sunday saw NXT rise to the top of WWE in winning the battle for Brand Supremacy with four wins to Monday Night Raw’s one and SmackDown’s two. The main event of the show saw NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler defeat Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in a triple threat. As it turns out, there was something being set up for later.

The ending of the show did see Baszler celebrating both her win but also clinching the outright win for NXT. Baszler made Bayley submit to the Kirifuda Clutch, leaving Lynch out of the ending. However, the show was not over yet as Lynch attacked Baszler and put her through the announcers’ table to stand tall. The ending has yet to be referenced again, but it may be done in the future.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the ending took place to plant the seeds for Lynch vs. Baszler down the line. The original plans were to see Baszler come up to the main roster at some point in 2020, though it is not clear if that has been changed at the moment. Baszler was the focal point of the angle, which is why she was allowed to win the main event triple threat match.

Well, she won. Check out the triple threat and what might be a preview of the future:

Opinion: Works for me. Baszler has long since become an NXT legend and there is no reason to believe that she can’t be a huge success on the main roster again. She can have a good match with just about anyone and it’s almost impossible to imagine her losing a match. The same is true for Lynch, and that is how you set up a huge match. Say perhaps at WrestleMania 36?

Did Baszler impress you at Survivor Series? How would the match go? Let us know in the comments below.
