Setting up for the future. We are in a new era of WWE and that means there is a lot of work to do. Last week saw the WWE Draft take place with dozens of wrestlers being officially assigned to their specific brands. This means that Monday Night Raw and SmackDown have new rosters, meaning that new rivalries and feuds need to start up. One of the easiest ways to do this is through titles, which came packed into the new shows. After the first show with the new roster, a champion now has a new challenger.

This week on SmackDown, a Six Pack Challenge was held to crown a new #1 contender to the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The match included Carmella, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross and Dana Brooke. Cross won the match by pinning Rose with the Purge, earning herself a shot at Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Title at a point to be determined in the future. This will be Cross’ second ever shot at the title, with the first coming at Extreme Rules 2019 when she teamed with Alexa Bliss to challenge Bayley.

There’s a lot in there. Check out the Six Pack Challenge:

Opinion: I don’t think this is going to set up the big title change down the line but at least Bayley is getting a fresh challenger for the title. You can only do so much of the Four Horsewomen fighting each other over and over again and we passed that point a long time ago. Bayley needs someone new to come after the title now and Cross isn’t someone who has been around the title scene all that much. If nothing else it probably sets up Cross/Bliss vs. Bayley/Sasha Banks, which could be an interesting feud as well if it is done right.

Does this feud interest you? Who will take the title from Bayley? Let us know in the comments below.
