They seem impressed. This week marks the one year anniversary of SmackDown moving over to FOX. The move marked one of the biggest upgrades that WWE has ever made as the company agreed to a five year contract with the network. WWE has now made it through one fifth of their agreement and that means it is time to look back at the first year so far.

The first year of SmackDown on FOX has gone fairly well for WWE, as the show has done fairly well in the ratings, often winning the night’s demographic race. The audience has been growing in recent weeks as well and there is always room for more growth. FOX seems to be pleased with the entire situation as well, and they are giving the show some extra attention.

WWE has announced that FOX will be airing a special on the greatest SmackDown moments of 2020. The special will be airing this Sunday around the same time as the day’s NFL programming, though there was no concrete start time. The announcement recommends that fans check their local listings for the time. There is also no listing for how long the show will be running.

The show has gone well so far. Check out how it has done over the last year:

Opinion: This might not be the biggest accomplishment in the world, but what matters here is the fact that SmackDown is happy enough to put SmackDown on its schedule again for another year. It doesn’t mean as much to FOX as it does to WWE, so WWE has gotten quite the boost out of having the show on the network. I’m not sure if they will make it through the entire five years, but at least they have made it through the first year and that’s a big start.
