I guess you can call him a fan. Over the last few years, there have been very few wrestlers who have become as popular as Rusev. Fueled by the power of Rusev Day, Rusev became a sensation with some of the loudest crowd reactions that you would hear at any given time. However, things have not gone very well for him in recent times, with WWE all but grounding him in recent weeks. It turns out that there are other people annoyed by the situation.
Starting in September 2019 and running all the way until February 2020, Rusev was involved in a long, drawn out feud with Bobby Lashley and Lana. The story was not exactly well received by WWE fans and that became a bit of a problem given how long the whole thing took. It was not popular when it started and then it got even worse as time went on. The story did Rusev a lot of harm and one of his fellow stars is not happy.
Sheamus was recently interviewed by Sportskeeda.com and talked about how much fun he had watching the Rusev/Lashley/Lana story. While Rusev came back and the angle started off hot, Sheamus was disappointed when it started to fall apart and eventually ended. Sheamus added that Rusev losing most of the matches did not hurt him because the Rusev Day chants were still strong. Rusev has not wrestled since the February 17 Monday Night Raw.
Rusev and Sheamus have a history together. Check out some of the things they have done:
Opinion: That’s rather nice of Sheamus but I’m not sure how many other people actually approved of the story. It wasn’t the most thrilling and went on far longer than it should have, but that’s the kind of thing that WWE does all the time. I could go for more Rusev, though it doesn’t seem like he is going to be around for the time being. It’s annoying, but that’s the way things go from time to time.
