They’ve earned it. Wrestling is in a weird place when it comes to sports. While it is certainly athletic, it is also pre-determined and therefore a bit more like theater. When you factor in everything going on outside of WWE, it can be a rather difficult effort to figure out who belongs on a list of all time greats. The WWE Hall of Fame may not be the most reliable, but they’re giving it another shot.

The Women’s Revolution really has changed the way wrestling works. After so many years of the women’s division being little more than filler or even eye candy, things have turned around and become serious. You can argue over what changed things off (and WWE certainly will do so) but, whether you like it or not, there are two women who were a part of the shift and they are being honored as a result.

This week on SmackDown, the Bella Twins were confirmed for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020. The Bellas are both former Divas Champions, with Nikki’s reign being the longest in the title’s history. The two of them went on to star in Total Divas before moving on to their own spinoff with Total Bellas. In addition to the Bellas, this year’s class currently includes the NWO and Batista.

It took them a long time. Check out how the Bellas got to the Hall of Fame:

Opinion: This is going to be one of the more controversial selections in the history of the Hall of Fame and that is understandable. Whether you like them or not though, the Bellas certainly made an impact during their careers. They were some of the main reasons behind the Give Divas A Chance movement which helped bring about the Women’s Revolution. I know a lot of people, myself included, weren’t huge fans, but this isn’t a ridiculous honor.

Do you agree with the Bellas being inducted? Who should give their induction speech? Let us know in the comments below.
