There Are Consequences To Action. WWE Angry At Independent Wrestler For Disrespecting Their Title.

You just don’t do that. While there are several wrestling companies in the world, there are none that can compare to WWE. Even its international wings such as NXT UK are bigger deals than several independent promotions and it is certainly a major influence. Sometimes they even cross over, which was the case last month in Ireland. Something happened there and WWE isn’t happy about it.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is not happy with independent wrestler David Starr for stomping on the United Kingdom Title during a match against champion Walter at OTT Wrestlerama 3. The spot was apparently unplanned and Starr came up with it on his own. After the stomp, Walter laid Starr out and went on to win the match. There is no word on what WWE could do about it since Starr is not employed by any major promotion.

Opinion: I can’t blame WWE for being upset at something like this happening, but it is hard to imagine them being able to do anything directly to Starr. What they could do is make it more difficult for Starr to get booked elsewhere. If they were to deny NXT UK talent to the companies that book Starr, it could become a problem in a hurry. Starr did get some notoriety for this but it might become a bigger problem in the future.
