The home territory is slipping away? For several decades now, WWE has been known as the New York territory. The company has viewed Madison Square Garden as their home and that is the kind of thing that they are going to have forever. Then things changed earlier this year when Ring of Honor and New Japan ran a show in the arena. WWE is going back there, but it might not exactly be the same.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the ticket sales for WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden on September 9 and 10 for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live are not going well. Neither show has sold out yet, while Monday Night Raw was expected to be a near instant sellout. There is still over a month and a half to go before both shows and therefore a strong chance that both shows could sell out.

Opinion: This seems like a case where it’s a little too early to get worried just yet. There is a lot of time before the show and there is a good chance of a strong walk up audience. Madison Square Garden is a huge venue and there is a good chance that the place will wind up selling out. If WWE can’t sell it out for at least Monday Night Raw though, they might be in bigger trouble than we thought.
