AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has been teasing an announcement on the future of AEW all day on his social media. That information has now been revealed on his YouTube channel in the first video of a series titled “Road To Double Or Nothing – Episode 01,” indicating that there will be a number of these videos in the coming weeks and months.

To get it out of the way, if you’d like to watch the episode, which lasts 4:51, yourself, you can do so below.

AEW - The Road To Double Or Nothing - Episode 01

The biggest news coming out of the episode is that up-and-coming independent star Jungle Boy has officially signed with AEW. It is likely he will be a part of the Double or Nothing card.

Matt Jackson would take to Twitter after the announcement to show a picture of he, Nick and Cody with Jungle Boy to remind fans that it is official.

Furthermore, Cody confirmed that there will be a ticket announcement party for Double or Nothing. It can be found at the talent pool at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. This event will take place on February 7 at 6PM PT / 9PM ET. For those who are unable to make it, they’ll have an online stream.

During the episode, Rhodes mentioned that one of the goals of AEW is to give athletes a chance to shine. These are generally stars that haven’t had that opportunity yet or deserve more of a spotlight. Furthermore, he hopes to take the knowledge he has learned throughout his career and learn from the mistakes he has made.

Here is what he had to say:

“We’re looking for… the word is fresh. Someone who, perhaps, hasn’t been granted an opportunity yet or somebody who is on the trend upwards and they’re just waiting for that moment. So we’re going to take our time and try and do it correctly and, you know, learn from the successes of our predecessors in that realm but also learn from the mistakes.”

For those wondering, Rhodes did not confirm who he would be facing at Double or Nothing. There had been much speculation that the announcement would confirm this.

He had the following to say:

“So who will I wrestle at Double or Nothing? I don’t know.”

For those wishing to attend Double or Nothing- it will take place on May 25 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
