SmackDown just wrapped up their final pay-per-view before WrestleMania, and now Raw is just a few weeks away from doing the same. Tonight promises a big title match, a long-anticipated return, and a “festival of friendship,” all bringing us closer to Fastlane. Let’s break it down.
That title match is between Charlotte and Bayley, who’ll once again compete for the Raw Women’s Championship. Bayley came up short in a similar title match at the Royal Rumble, and the loss was pretty definitive. But she keeps beating Charlotte in every non-title match, so here we are.
As many wonderful matches as the Raw women’s roster has put on, the division feels like it’s in a definitive rut. Charlotte’s an unstoppable monster when she’s on PPV, but she loses every other match she’s in, and the feud with Bayley hasn’t done much to change that.
The X-factor here is the promised return of Emmalina, who is definitively, absolutely, positively announced to be making her debut tonight. But we’ve been definitively lied to before, and it seems like the whole thing is a backstage joke.
At this point, I don’t care if the new Emma is a bikini model or a bubble dancer, just put her in a ring and let her wrestle. She’s good, and Raw desperately needs more competitors and more stories in its women’s division.
On top of all the women’s action, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho are holding a “festival of friendship,” and your guess is as good as mine as to what that means. I’m sure it will go super-great and definitely nod lead to the downfall of WWE’s biggest power couple, though.
Raw goes down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, broadcast live as always on the USA Network at 8PM Eastern/7PM Central. We’ll have live coverage as always, so stick around for all the latest as it happens!
