WWE might be the biggest company in pro wrestling, but that doesn’t mean they’re the only one. Many of the best wrestlers in the world work outside Vince McMahon’s company, and until very recently that included names like Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, and AJ Styles.
So what are you to do when you’re making a name on the indies and you meet a WWE-employed peer? Maybe say hello? Well, what are you going to do if said WWE employee doesn’t recognize you?
That’s exactly what happened to the perennial high flyer Ricochet this week when he met Mickie James.
Though they’d met before, it seems the recently-returned WWE star looked dead in Ricochet’s eyes and didn’t have a clue who she was talking to.

It’s all in good humor, though, as James’ Twitter reply indicates.

Brian James, aka Road Dogg, couldn’t help stirring the pot, however.
Lmao! Shhhhh…. that was our secret! @WWERoadDogg @KingRicochet #SisterShovel

The lightweight Ricochet is currently one of the biggest non-WWE wrestlers in the world, formerly competing in Lucha Underground as Prince Puma and having matches on shows as prestigious as NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom.
Mickie James is enjoying a resurgence of her own, having recently returned to WWE as part of SmackDown Live. She’s set to take on former Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at this weekend’s Elimination Chamber.
