Nia Jax has suffered no shortage of armchair criticism following her match against Charlotte Flair on Monday night–and in fairness, it did look like an ugly fall for Charlotte.
If you missed the match, it included a shoulder breaker where Nia appeared to drop Charlotte on her head, and a moonsault where it seemed Nia was incorrectly positioned to break Charlotte’s fall, leading to the former women’s champ falling flat on her face. You can see the details in the video below.
But speaking with USA Today, Charlotte seemed unconcerned over the apparent botches. “It didn’t really affect me … That’s up to the viewer on how they viewed it that it looked nasty. It’s going to take a lot more than dropping me on my head to keep me down.”
She says she hasn’t seen any lasting effects from Monday’s fall, either. “Knock on wood, I haven’t missed a live event, I haven’t been injured. I know my body and I’m think I’m extremely well-trained. I looked at it as, ‘Hey, bring it. I’ll see you next time, woman.'”
Charlotte has moved to Tuesday nights, and it doesn’t seem she’ll be at a loss for success on SmackDown–we’re expecting far more championship reigns than we’re necessarily comfortable with.
