Now that his role as the “Tough Enough” host is over, what is next for “Y2J?”

Chris Jericho was recently interviewed by “HuffPost Live” to hype the season finale of “Tough Enough,” which aired on Aug. 25. During the interview, Jericho discussed several topics, including his future with WWE, as well as several potential opponents he’d like to work with.

Jericho first stated that he would stop wrestling once he could no longer perform at a high level, or if he stopped coming up with good ideas. He also added that once he stops wrestling, he will not return, because he is not bound to it for any financial reason:

“Even now, working the live events, I feel that I’m having the best match of the show, or one of them, and coming out of the ring feeling, ‘that was really good.’ I’m still doing everything that I ever could, still thinking, still coming up with new ideas and facing new guys that give you extra elements to work with.”

“Y2J” was also asked who he would like to work with during a television angle. Jericho said that he has really enjoyed working Live Events with some of the younger guys recently. As previously reported, Jericho has received high praise for recent matches against Kevin Owens during live events, as well as his match against Neville at “Beast In The East.”

Jericho went on to say that he is more than happy working Live Events right now, and would continue doing so if WWE could not come up with the right television feud for him. He also said he would enjoy working with Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, or Roman Reigns before mentioning that ultimately, having the right storyline is what is really important:

“It’s always about the storyline, so it’s not so much who it would be, but what’s the story. There [have] been times when I was about ready to come back [to WWE TV] and we couldn’t figure out the right stories, so I didn’t.”

Editor’s Note:

Jericho is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers, so however he can stay involved with WWE is a plus. Knowing that he is willing to make a return to WWE programming, depending on the angle, leaves the door open for a lot of potential dream feuds. Based on the recent reports and the matches I have been able to see of his recently, he definitely still performs at a high level. He is scheduled to appear during the WWE Network live event on Oct. 3 from Madison Square Garden, and you can be sure I will be tuning in.
