The New Age Outlaws have yet to cash in on their “rematch clause” with the Usos because the Road Dogg Jesse James is rehabbing a back injury. According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, the Road Dogg suffered the injury during the match that saw the Usos defeat the Outlaws for the WWE Tag Team Championship on March 3.
James and partner “Badd Ass” Billy Gunn captured the WWE Tag Team Championship in January, making them six-time champions and giving them their first WWE tag title in 14 years. After losing to the Usos on “Monday Night Raw,” the Outlaws have been said to be “waiting” for the perfect moment to declare a rematch. This “perfect time” will be after James is completely healed up.
The title change occurred on “Monday Night Raw” and not on a PPV like “Elimination Chamber” to combat the rowdy March 3 Chicago crowd. WWE officials believed that having the Usos win their first Tag Team Championship after four years of trying would help detour the Chicago crowd from chanting for “CM Punk” in his absence.
If James has yet to completely recover before WrestleMania XXX, it is likely that the WWE tag titles aren’t contested for at the event, and the Usos would enter the inaugural André the Giant Memorial 30-Man Battle Royal instead.
