WrestlingRumors.net has been provided with some backstage information as to why John Cena’s opponent was changed on “Monday Night Raw.” Originally, Cena was slated to face Luke Harper during the March 10 edition of the company’s flagship program. However, the match was changed to Cena vs. Erick Rowan only an hour before “Monday Night Raw” went live.

According to our source, Harper was taken out of that match because the company is trying to give him time to heal. Harper apparently suffered a minor shoulder injury during the six-man tag team bout that took place between the Wyatt Family and the Shield during the March 3 edition of “RAW.” The company has kept him out of the ring since March 3 to protect him, and it seems like they made the switch to Rowan on March 10 just to be on the safe side.

Harper should recover quickly and not miss any time on television. Rowan and Harper are expected to compete at WrestleMania XXX, possibly in the inaugural André the Giant Memorial 30-Man Battle Royal.
