Triple H is fighting for better WWE TV. According to sources within WWE, Triple H held a meeting backstage with talent, executives, and creative in Knoxville, Tenn. prior to the May 26 edition of “Monday Night Raw” to express his concerns about the flow of WWE television and what he wants to do to change it.

As previously reported, Triple H and Vince McMahon have had issues as of late when discussing builds, programs, and characters pushed on WWE content, especially WWE TV such as “Monday Nigh Raw” and “Smackdown.” Triple H believes that because the overall sense from fans is that WWE TV is not very good, which is why they are not invested in the product heavily enough to want to order the WWE Network in order to view the company’s PPV events.

We also previously reported that McMahon himself believes that “heel” and “babyface” characters no longer exist, which has led to confusion amongst WWE creative over the last few years in how they build story lines. Many times, programs and story lines will run for a minute, then be aborted by McMahon because he doesn’t feel they’re working, even if the character or feud hasn’t had enough time to develop. McMahon feels that the common fan will forget about a previous story line after 6 weeks or so, and thus has not provided much continuity or long-term booking plans.

However, Triple H views things differently as a former talent who saw long-term booking and proper build as a means of success. Triple H wants to re-establish the relevance of the Intercontinental Championship, so that mid-card feuds will mean something and build up superstars to main event status. Likewise, he wants to create memorable under-card story lines which will allow the WWE Universe to get behind stars and elevate them towards mid-card status, and then ultimately to the main event.

WrestlingRumors.net also previously reported rumored feuds going into the Summer of 2014, as well as the possible main roster debuts of other NXT talent such as Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville. All of which is believed to be the product of Triple H’s hope for WWE’s future, while trying to still co-exist with McMahon’s grip on ultimate creative power.

Editor’s Note:
It’s obvious that Triple H cares about the product and wants to see stars built into MEGA stars. The Shield went over Evolution CLEAN and in a sweep at “Payback,” which will hopefully put all of the “Triple H just buries talent” comments to bed. I feel like he truly wants to return the product to a place where the fans can get behind everything offered, and it’s what they need at the moment when they’re expected to lose so much money this year due to the evolution of their business model.
