While Jack Swagger is far from being one of the biggest names in WWE history, he is one of the few guys in the current locker room who has the potential for a successful MMA career. But, is he willing to begin a career in mixed martial arts at the age of 34?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Swagger, who was recently granted his request to be released from WWE, was considering making the move to MMA a year ago, and he might have requested his release so he can finally explore his options in the MMA world.

“He called in to Chael Sonnen’s podcast and said that he had asked for his release and got it, and he talked about maybe doing MMA. About a year ago, I was at a UFC show, and he’s got friends who are friends with me, and [they told me] ‘he’s looking at getting into MMA.'”
