John Cena was targeted by Baron Corbin on this past Tuesday’s SmackDown, and it looks like the two will feud with each other. In fact, Corbin may end up being Cena’s WrestleMania opponent if Cena fails to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble. But, whether or not they meet on April 2 is irrelevant, because they will have a match with one another.
On SmackDown’s weekly post-show — Talking Smack — Corbin had some pretty harsh words for the now part time John Cena, as he said that the former fifteen time world champ’s best days are behind him.
“Look, AJ said it best tonight: looking through (John Cena) is easy because he’s not here. He’s here part time, his game is part time. You can’t beat me with half your eggs in this basket. You can’t beat me showing up part time. He’s done great things, and he’s done them for a long time, but I told him tonight when he was laying on his back that his time is up. He can talk about his fifteen championships, he can talk about his years and years and years of great matches, amazing matches, WrestleMania moments, but a lot of people have had those moments, and they came to an end. John Cena’s no different.
“I do (think this is the end for him). When you start putting half your effort into this — and he says he’s all here, he’s back to prove a point — but when you’re part time, you can’t beat me.”
