Vince McMahon’s “Arrest” Flooded the NYPD With Calls

Last night during Monday Night Raw’s opening segment, Vince McMahon returned to exact his vengeance on Roman Reigns after being Superman Punched during Reign’s title win against Sheamus two weeks ago.

However, before The Boss could do anything substantial to get his revenge, The police officers McMahon had brought to the ring for protection turned on him. Vince’s rage got in the way, and his protection of Stephanie led to his arrest for most of the episode.

What’s funny is after McMahon’s “arrest”, there was a flurry of calls to the New York Police Department in real life by many members of the WWE Universe to “throw the book at him”. Many WWE fans thought the segment was real enough to make the calls despite some questionable acting from both McMahons.

Vince McMahon would return at the last minute of Raw to give fans a reason to tune in next week. Vince announced that on the first Monday Night Raw of 2016, Roman Reigns will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus with himself as the guest referee.

The “arrest” and the guest referee spot aren’t new tricks, but if WWE thinks they’ll work. They have in the past.
