Roman Reigns Vows to Retain the WWE Championship

Last night was an interesting night for Roman Reigns. First, Vince McMahon returned to Monday Night Raw for the first time in two weeks to embarrass the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Unfortunately, The Boss’ plan backfired when his officers turned on him after his rage took over and he was arrested for most of the night.

The main event saw Alberto Del Rio defend the United States Championship against a returning John Cena. Cena vs. Del Rio was thrown out when The League of Nations interfered, but Roman Reigns came out to take down Barrett, Rusev, Del Rio and Sheamus.

McMahon made his return at the last minute to announce that Reigns will defend the WWE Championship against Sheamus next week on Raw, but the special guest referee will be McMahon himself.

Thus far, Roman Reigns has had a subpar title reign. His momentum skyrocketed after “TLC” and he won the WWE Championship the next night. Since then, he’s been locked in this strange feud with the McMahons which hasn’t really gone anywhere and comes off like it’s wasting time before it’s appropriate to bring back Triple H.

Next week is a good step in the right direction. At least, Reigns is doing something with the title next week.
