Although, Rey Mysterio is going to make a massive impact in the promotion during season two, the issues with Shawn Hernandez after his involvement in the first season are still a serious issue.

He has been extremely scornful of his time with Lucha Underground. After he lost his job with TNA following his run in LU, Hernandez is suing the promotion and claiming that the promotion provides an unsafe working environment for their talent.

After Hernandez had returned to TNA, he told TNA officials that he wasn’t under contract with Lucha Underground. Unfortunately, that wasn’t true. As a result, TNA had to re-edit all the footage shot with so he wouldn’t appear on any of their TV shows. Obviously, TNA severed their ties with Hernandez after that.
It is quite the corner Shawn Hernandez finds himself in right now. It is clear that Lucha Underground is a burned bridge, which is probably better for all involved.

Lucha Underground’s second season filmed throughout November. The second season officially debuts on January 27th and will feature at least sixteen episodes. The second season will finish with the second annual “Ultima Lucha” event on January 31st. There is no word on when that will air on the El Rey Network.
