SmackDown Reaction: James Ellsworth Needs to Go

Okay, it was cute for a minute. This whole James Ellsworth angle that WWE has going is kind of funny and heartwarming, I suppose. But, it almost got really serious last night.

It’s understandable that WWE is trying to keep the whole “any man with two hands” thing going. Also, they want to make Dean Ambrose stick it to AJ Styles to continue their feud for the next several weeks, but things almost became very unfunny.

The Styles Clash during the match between Ellsworth and Styles almost caused a serious injury to the former. You can see it right here in slow motion that Ellsworth got lucky.

If you watch AJ, he sees the problem, lands lightly on his feet and hands, which allows him to save Ellsworth from serious injury. Styles deserves a lot of credit for that.

The point is that this Ellsworth guy is fun, but there is no reason for him to be in there with the best WWE has to offer. Now, he’s going to be back next week for a title match?

Sure, the guy made one mistake on a Styles Clash. The real problem here is Styles just came off a victory over John Cena and Dean Ambrose, and the next show he loses to Ellsworth in Ambrose high-jinks? This isn’t a fair way to book your WWE Champion.
