Since 2003, WWE has produced “Tribute to the Troops,” in which the superstars of professional wrestling can give back to the brave men and women who fight to make the United States the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

This year is no different, as the company released the following information today:

WWE today announced that the 14th annual WWE Tribute to the Troops event will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at Verizon Center in Washington D.C., marking the first time the event will be held in our nation’s capital.  While in D.C., WWE Superstars will spend time with members of all five branches of the military.

From 2003-2009, WWE traveled to the Middle East and performed live for all members of the armed forces that were serving in that part of the world. Since 2010, they have held the event on United States soil.

WWE Chairman & CEO, Vince McMahon had the following to say regarding the annual event:

“For the 14th year, WWE is honored to give back to American military personnel and their families for their commitment to and sacrifice for our country,” said WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.  “Our servicemen and women work tirelessly and selflessly for our freedom, and it is an honor to continue the Tribute to the Troops tradition for them this year in our nation’s capital.”

Editor’s Note:

I always appreciate the generosity that WWE shares towards the men and women of our armed forces in the United States. They consistently put their lives in danger for our freedom every single day, and deserve a time where they can allow us to show our thanks for all of their sacrifices.
