Last year, Seth Rollins was the WWE Champion and in a feud with John Cena. During a match on Raw, he famously gave Cena a high knee that broke his nose and created some gruesome images.
After that, a lot of people in the industry criticized Rollins for injuring his opponent like that, and one of the names that really stuck with him was WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart.
Hart was very critical of Rollins for the incident and elaborated the following rant during an interview with Sports Illustrated:
“That knee in the face that he gave to John Cena was unprofessional, at best. It’s really strange that a guy like Rollins, who I have a lot of respect for, would be that reckless with that knee in the face. If someone kneed me in the face like that, I would have met him in the back dressing room with a baseball bat. There’s just no excuse for it.”
Recently, Seth Rollins appeared on “Talk is Jericho” with Y2J and the two discussed his return, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and the comments that Bret Hart made against Rollins last November.
You can listen to the full interview with Chris Jericho right here. Below is what Rollins had to say about The Hitman:
“But Bret Hart had some comments about me and how safe I am in the ring because of John’s broken nose and my getting hurt while I was the champion. And that hurt my feelings. I haven’t seen Bret since then, and I know he comes from a different era when they worked through a lot of stuff, but that sucked. For him to say that—in a Sports Illustrated Interview—was rough.”
